Raspet visited Okayama for research

Raspet at the D&T Farm

Artist participating in Okayama Art Summit 2019, Sean Raspet visited the D&T Farm in Okayama, known for its special banana growing methods, this July for research.

Raspet was born in 1981 in Washington D.C. His works have often consisted of liquid chemical formulations of artificial flavour and fragrance molecules. More recently, his works have involved food, nutrition, human metabolism and human cellular development via stem cells.

The farm has the theory that they can expose certain varieties of plants to cold temperature conditions in the seed stage to create better adapted individual plants. The visit to the Farm was “very interesting and this farm seems to take a different approach than what many kinds of agricultural technology companies would do”, Raspet says.
